FAQs
Where do you source your materials from?
The clays I use are either a midfire or a stoneware clay. Glazes are from Northcote Pottery, as are my tiles.
How are pieces packaged for delivery?
I source packaging materials from local retailers’ and neighbours’ waste packaging, avoiding the need for new material. Most items are ‘double-boxed’ packed to ensure they arrive in one piece. Paper tape is used to seal boxes.
Can I collect my purchases from your studio?
Yes! Covid restrictions permitting, you may choose to collect your online purchase(s) from my studio by selecting LOCAL at the checkout. Please await an email confirmation to advise when your order is ready for collection. My studio is located in Campbells Creek, Victoria (near Castlemaine).
What if my order arrives damaged?
In the unlikely event that a piece arrives damaged, please email annareadstudio@gmail.com with a photograph showing the damage within 48 hours of receiving your order and I will arrange to replace it.
Can I exchange what I bought?
I am a small one-person operation and as such I don’t offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. Please see my Shipping & Returns page for more information.
Where can I buy your ceramics in person?
My studio in Campbells Creek, Victoria is open by appointment - please get in touch via my Contact page. From time to time I will hold studio sales - please follow me on Instagram @aluisaread to find out about upcoming sales. My work is not currently sold via any retailers.
Can you make a customised piece?
While I am open to working on special commissions it will depend on the nature of the enquiry. Please get in touch via my Contact page if you would like to discuss commissioning a piece or collection. Generally I prefer not to make to order, I feel my work is better in all aspects when I can create from my own ideas and inspiration.
Are your ceramics food safe?
Yes. My pieces are mostly glazed with a matte finish which allows the texture of the clay to be felt. I recommend taking care with foods that have potential to leave stains, but having said that I eat out of my own bowls all the time and they are fine!
Are your ceramics dishwasher safe?
I don’t have a dishwasher so I can’t say… but I would recommend hand washing to ensure the longest life for your treasure.
